August 2007 - Early August

We've been busy with visitors and getting 'out and about' the past month or so. We had Julie (the Matron of Honour at our wedding) here with her two boys for the first two weeks of August....during which time we also had another couple and their little girl (2 1/2) stay with us. It was great to see Ailsa playing with all of the kids (and practicing 'sharing' with Syndey)....but her bedtime did start to drift and get quite late...and she started to get cranky. A couple of early nights fixed that. While everyone was here we had some great days out - Hampton Court (including their maze), Walks around London (ending in Hamley's toy store - established prior to 1776), etc. Of course we took them to Kew Gardens, but didn't have a chance for Tyler to climb up the pagoda. Julie and Aaron did have a chance to go to the Great British Beer Festival for a hour of so as well - just to explore a bit more of British culture (and the line for the women's room was much shorter than that of the mens).

We (finally) joined the royal palaces scheme so that we can go into Hampton Court, Kew Palace, Kensington Palace and the Tower of London as often as we'd like for the next 15 months. We've never been in Kensington Palace, but it is next to the great Peter Pan playground in Hyde Park, so we can be sure that Ailsa would enjoy the day out as well (we took all 5 kids there when Julie and Aaron were visiting).

We had some great days out to Kew Gardens, Hampton Court Palace, walking around London to Westminster Cathedral and Hamley's toy store.
