April 2007 - Easter holidays at the Playground
One of the days of our long (4 days) Easter weekend was spent going for ice cream, looking at classic cars and then going to the playground. Yes, she's very good at not spilling ice cream. I only started giving her the 'odd cone' once the weather got nice. There is a nice (Paul friendly) classic car showroom in the short walk from the ice cream place and the playground.
Unfortunately, the shirt she wore on one of the days was 'extra slippy'. This meant that when she went on her tummy head first down the slide, she slid off the slide and landed on her face (which had never happened before). There was a little blood where she bit her lip, bless. A little cry and she was throwing herself down the slide again. I suggested that she not go down on her tummy while she was wearing the 'slippy shirt'.
She also enjoyed 'shadowing' a much older boy who was at the playground. She approaced the 2 boys when they were sitting at a little picnic table. The older one patted the seat next to him and she mirrored his movements for a while after (I got a photo after the younger boy moved to another play area).

| Ailsa at the playground with the boy she followed around. I said something to him about his being so nice to her and he said Ailsa was 'sweet'....awwww...perhaps there is hope for the youth of today. | |
