Discovering Puddles / Play area at Kew Gardens called Climbers and Creepers
[August / September 2006]
After a few showers, the puddles in Kew Gardens got Ailsa's attention. She started 'stomping' in the water and bending over to put her hands in the puddles. Bless. It was quite adorable. She also enjoyed wandering around the old 'ruin' - walking around and through the arches. Paul has recently bought him a walking stick to help with his dodgy hip - so he started using it to 'herd' Ailsa back towards the exit. A few days later we bought her first 'real' shoes - size 3 (tiny)....I'll try to take a photo soon.
A few weeks later, Ailsa did a great job of navigating her way to the play area at Kew Gardens (Known as Climbers and Creepers). I past the turn off for it as I wanted to show our friend Fabiola around. She's over from Massachusetts doing research with my old advisor. I think Ailsa saw the roof of the neighbouring building and the colourful fake flowers as we past. When I took her out of the push chair a short time later she backtracked and found her way to the play area - occasionally stopping to look around and reassess which way she wanted to go.

I keep meaning to see if these footprints on our car are from a fox. Look too long in the toes to be from a cat. Hmmmm... |
